BDF Fresh Produce is a locally owned, independent family business that has been serving the hospitality, retail, education and care sector for over 30 years. While the BDF name has been established for three decades, our family has been involved in the fruit and vegetable trade for more than 100 years. Today, three generations of the family work within the business. After operating out of a small unit in Bovey Tracey for 30 years, we moved to a larger facility at the Brunel Industrial Estate in 2022. This expansion has enabled us to diversify our offerings, now including dairy, dry goods, and artisan products, in addition to our premium fruit and vegetables.
We are proud to source seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables from across Devon. By doing so, we help sustain the local agricultural economy, ensuring that farmers have a reliable market for their produce and preserving Devon’s rich farming heritage. Our focus on local sourcing also plays a key role in reducing the carbon footprint associated with long-distance transportation, supporting environmentally friendly practices, and minimizing food miles.
