In the vineyard, we’re able to do things differently, because we’re not growing grapes to make white wine, and can manipulate the vineyards rows to store more heat, enabling us to fully ripen our fruit.
We’re neither organic or Biodynamic, and we don’t grow the grapes in a conventional way either. Our focus is on looking after out soil, by driving on it at little as possible.
We grow four vine varieties; Rondo, Dornfelder, Acolon and Pinot Noir
Each year, we’ll produce a different wine from these varieties, based on how ripe the fruit is. Our varieties starting ripening in mid-September, and we can often still be picking in the first week of November.
Our typical vegan friendly wines are:
Rondo:- good colour and tannin, well balanced fruit, subtle oak, and great length
Acolon:- plum fruits, balanced acidity, soft oak an tannins
Pinot Noir:- classic light style Pinot Noir, hints of raspberry / strawberry
Dornfelder:- a light summer red wine, with cherry fruits, and freshness
Rosé:- bone dry, crisp with strawberry fruits
Our tours take you into the vineyard, and we look at how the vines are developing, along with any challenges we’ve had. We then go into the winery, and walk-through the winemaking process. Each tour is finished after a tasting of 3 of our wines.
Dogs (on a lead) are very welcome on our tours.
Cheers!
