Venn Valley Vineyard

Venn Valley Vineyard is one of very few vineyards in North Devon. Until recently England was generally thought to be too cool for wine-growing, but our vineyard lies on the same latitude as the great wine growing regions around Cologne in Germany, and English wines are rapidly gaining an internationally recognised and well-deserved reputation for excellence.

We have taken a hands-on approach at every stage of the vineyard’s development: from the first planting of four and a half acres in 2016 and again the following year when a further two acres of grapes were planted, and then through to the subsequent tending and nurturing of the young vines. Every step taken on the long road to bringing our vines to fruition has been imbued with our passion for the grape and the wine, and we’ve kept our focus on the long view, waiting for the day when the wine finally reaches the bottle. Our wines will be available from 2023 and we are looking forward to finally sharing the fruits of our labours with our customers.

We will be opening our Visitor Centre, as well as holding tours of the vineyard in 2022. Come visit us soon.

The Pinot Noir varieties are red, while the others are early ripening white varieties tolerant of the cooler conditions of English vineyards. With wine production due to start in 2022, the focus is on white and rosé wines. Over the coming years we will build our cellar door to include sparkling and still wines of the highest quality.
